When you are visiting a reserve, it is indeed surprising if you encounter a crocodile or alligator. But if you are in the saltwater, you should expect to see one or more. You should know that crocodile, alligators and their family kill thousands of people every year in different parts of the world. When you see one, you need to know what to do so you can survive the encounter. Here are some tips:

  • Stay away from swarming waters. Before wandering in the wild or saltwater, you need to ask the locals or the authorities which place is swarming with crocodiles. If you know which place, you should never go near it.
  • Beware of your surroundings. If you know that crocodiles roam in that place, it is crucial that your senses are heightened. You need to be vigilant. Concentrate and use your senses.
  • Stay away from crocodiles. If you spotted one or two crocodiles, it is important that you give them enough space. Do not attempt to go near because it will only make things worse. Remember to stay away at least 15 feet from crocodiles.
  • Run right away if you sense danger. If you see that the crocodile is approaching you, you need to run. Do not wait for it to go near because you might be killed. Run to the nearest land and never stop.
  • Fight back if you get caught. If you are attacked, the crocodile will try to drag you in the water. When you are attacked, your best hope is to fight back and try to get away as soon as possible. Attack the eyes, ears, nostrils and tongue.
  • Get help. When you survived the attack and you got away, the next thing that you should do is get some help. The mouth of crocodiles houses bacteria. Infection will occur if there is a bite. It should be treated immediately.

Common Transportation in Singapore

Singapore_Public_Transport For many countries around the globe, transportation is given importance. It is by all means – way of living. In today’s modern world there are a lot of changes that is happening and this is due to the advancement in technology. Because Singapore is a highly-standardized nation, roads, buildings and transportations are always evolving. Buses and trains in the city are air-conditioned and roads are systematized.

MRT

This is the largest public transportation in Singapore. Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is the railway system in Singapore that is first rode by Singaporeans in 1987. This railway is the second oldest railway in Southeast Asia next to LRT in Philippines.

Car Rentals

In Singapore, tourist are allowed to drive around the country for a span of 12 months (1 year) and as usual they must carry a license and a passport. However, they avoid to rent a car. But because it is more convenient to tour the metropolis using own vehicles, foreigners tend to rent a car for their convenience.

Taxis

During normal fare hours, taxi fares are quite cheap but taxis in Singapore are relatively inexpensive during normal fare hours, but unluckily those hours are only limited. During peak hours (morning and evening) fare rates is increased by 35% and for people who wants to tour the metropolis during dawn, just prepare for a 50% increase in taxi fare rate.  The only thing that makes the taxi service is Singapore cheap, is to impose a metered taxi; however, this is not necessary because most Singaporeans do have cars and they do not usually ride a taxi.

Singapore Location

While a lot of people know that Singapore is a country located in Southeast Asia, others say that Singapore is situated near United Arab Emirates (UAE). This notion is corrected by the National Government of Singapore so that tourist will no longer be confused on where Singapore is exactly located. Singapore has a humid and hot temperature because it is located near the equator.

Why Singapore’s Climate is mostly hot and moist?

Due to the advancement of Singapore in terms of trade and commerce, modern technology also boosts its way to modernize the country. In Singapore, there are a lot of man-made structures that in many situations can lead to natural disasters such as Landslide, Earthquake, Flood and many more.  These man-made structures are also the reason why the climate in Singapore is too hot in summer and excessively cold in winter. However, Singapore’s climate is also affected by global climate change.

The Four Seasons

There are four common seasons in Singapore and these are fall, spring, winter and summer. Also, there are two particular seasonal winds in the country – the northeast monsoon (December-March) and the southwest monsoon (June-September).

What You Need to Know about FTA

The EU (European Union)- Singapore FTA (Free Trade Agreement) is pushing forward. Singapore’s president Tony Tan Keng Yam visited Budapest, Hungary on November 12, 2013. He was received by Hungary’s president Janos Ader. President Tan went to Hungary to gather support for the early approval of FTA. The two president converged and tackled about strengthening Singapore-Hungary ties in the field of trade and research. In 2012, Hungary was the fourteenth biggest trading partner of Singapore. The FTA will come into full swing in 2015.

FTA-1

The FTA is good news for both countries and its people. What are the benefits of engaging into FTAs?

Market Access

The government find FTA desirable because it widens market access. Under a FTA, companies are given admission to a wider market. This is good for the consumers because they are given various choices of goods at reasonable prices.

FTA-3

Investment

When you say wider market access, it will invite more FDI (Foreign Direct Investment). FDI refers to a venture/s created by foreign organizations/companies in a specific country. FDI may also refer to the entire value of the organization/company’s investment.

FTA-2

Generation of jobs

FTA is two way – local companies will feel a gush in competition and as for the other side, it can result to job losses because of the moving of production. But it should not be seen this way. FTA is beneficial for both countries. For the exporters, fresh market opportunities can generate jobs.

This is a sensitive issue for other economists and governments. The presidents know what they are doing. After all, the decision of engaging in FTA was studied thoroughly and meticulously. That means both countries can benefit from it.

OpenNet

OpenNet is the builder of this fast fibre broadband network. As of September 2013, there were about 450,000 households using fibre broadband service by OpenNet. The leap in the number of subscribers was attributed to the launching of 200 mbps for only S$39. Fiber optic technology is used by service providers for their broadband services. This is a new breakthrough in internet bandwidth which made the world even smaller.

fibre-1

Benefits

There are many benefits of fibre optic technology such as easing of internet congestion and video streaming. Internet providers employ fiber optics power to increase connectivity. Fiber optics in telecommunications and networking are widespread for many years but the recent development of fiber optics made it more  popular. Fiber optics operate base on the fundamental principle of physics – reflection and refraction of light. Experts pointed out several advantages of fiber optics (apart from increasing of bandwidth).

fibre-3

Advantages

Fiber optics are light weight and small, low in signal decrease, low in error rates and noise rejection. These advantages made up the efficient fibre broadband service.  What are you waiting for? If you want to try this, you should subscribe to your nearest service provider. There are many plans with flexible offers that you can consider. This technology can indeed hasten the exchange of information. Enjoy this technology and make sure to use it for your advancement!
